| I have two cats using the petporte catflap, and it's solved the problem of a large male forcing open the old cat flap, I can sleep at night. With one of our cats it works like a dream; opens quickly and allows entry every time. However although the sensor recognised my other cats microchip it won't allow her entry. I can only assume this is due to the chip moving further down her back. It does seem to be about an inch behind her neck, which is not to far away. I have put slabs in front of the catflap so her back is closer to the sensor to no avail. I took her to the vet but the scanner was at the other practice, so i'll take her back later to get it scanned. Although they would only be confirming the chip is lower down, as i know it will scan next to the sensor. Our one year old baby girl is no longer waking up to the sound of screaming cats, therefore i need solutions as removing the catflap is not an option! Questions: 1) I have heard the sensor range can be increased is this true, if so will it help if shes not far enough under the flap. 2) Can I get another chip inserted and the old one deactivated, or left in place. 3) Could I buy a chip and stitch it to a secure collar using waterproof material so as to allow her access? I know this is extreme but i am serious. |

| The sensor range is shipped pre-optimised. I would recommend you take her back to the vet to check the chip location. If it is far away or if the chip has come out then you could get her rechipped yes. Also please check that her microchip number is compatible using the chip checker on our website. Yes the collar idea is a good one. I will suggest this to the manufacturer.
