It refuses to close in the dark

Hello everyone. Thanks for all the tips posted so far. I have had one of these for a year now and I am really pleased with it. However over the weekend it stopped closing in the dark. It goes into vet mode ok, so the red tab is working, but it doesn't matter how dark it is, it stays open. I am going on holiday soon (tomorrow!) I'd really like to know my cats are safe at night.

Please does anyone know how to find out why it's stopped reacting to the dark?

Update - I have just realised it is periodically opening and closing after dark, in night mode. I have tried holding the red button (to set the light level) as described in another post but it never beeps (other than to set to vet mode). I have powered off and on.

Hi can you tell me the serial number of your cat flap either from the underside of the box or the underneath of the sensor porch?
