Question help!

Hi
I bought one of these cat flaps after my cat is scared from other cats who had been coming in the house. On the first day it was installed my cat went through it a few times ok, however she then started being scared of the clicking noise it makes when she wants to come back in and it unlocks. So we turned it off and left it open for 6 days. We had to encourage her through it but she started using it fine. We have turned it back on now as we thought she was used to it and we also caught another cat in the house. However she is now scared of it AGAIN!!! I try to shake her biscuits inside and call her through the cat flap, she got as close as putting her head to the flap and then heard the click / saw the green bit move and backed off.
I wanted to know if anyone else had this problem and how they solved it? as I am at a loss how to get her back in.
She seems to go out fine, but not in and will appear at the front door when I get home from work to try and get in!!

Thanks
Katie

Try putting pot plants either side of the door on the outside to give your cat an added feeling of protection and security.

It sounds like a generalised anxiety disorder if your cat is hyper sensitive to sounds. You could try one of the relaxing plug-ins such as Feliway to calm your cat down.

I would let your cat out in the morning before giving her any food and then tempt her back through with a nice plate of tuna fish or her favorite treat. Give her plenty of encouragement, praise and petting when she does come through and I'm sure she will overcome her fear.

Please let me know how you get on.
