Question easier to open

One of my cats doesn't push hard enough to open the catflap on re-entry. All efforts to help her have failed. Can any adjustment be made please?

Check that you have not overtightened any of the screws. They should all be tightened evenly to avoid the cat flap warping.

Can you easily open it yourself?

Does tempting her through with treats help?

Also does it beep when she approaches it? Please reply back so I know whether these suggestions have helped.

Exclamation easier to open

Hi James
In answer to your questions - the screws are OK, I can open the flap easily, she will kill for catnip but it still doesn't inspire her to push with her head. Finally there is no beep before entry. If anyone can tell me how to train a cat to push with her head and not poke ineffectually with her paw I shall be grateful!

Try showing your cat how it works with a soft toy. Pushing the toy through from one side to the other.

If anyone else has any tips please post them.

Most cats will get used to using a cat flap within about three days.
