Default It's a doddle

My cats love it.

It was a doddle to fit and the only issue that I found was the gap, which I sealed with a white sealer paste. The addendum sheet mentions it. I already had some so it wasn't a problem but some non-diy folk might wonder why a small tube of sealer isn't included in the box.

Worth considering, James? Cost is minimal.

The sealer actually enhances the ęsthetic appearance when it is installed into a UPVC panel. It makes it look like an integral part of the panel.

One other thing worried me slightly. I was concerned that some idiot would try to use the canopy as a step. I attached a small label to the top stating, "FRAGILE Do not stand on this."

Wonderful!!! Thanks for posting your pics. That is a good suggestion about the small tube of sealant. I will certainly suggest it to the manufacturers on Monday. Good idea about the notice on the top too!

Talking Re. sealant

Hmm. Maybe another idea is to use the two part "mouldable" epoxy which comes in a sausage-like roll; this is designed to hold items onto walls so should be strong enough and waterproof.

Can also be cut into 1cm sections which is enough to seal one catflap and also is relatively harmless. Silicone would be nasty as it has a tendency to cure in the tube if slightly out of date which would indeed happen in storage.

Just my $0.04 worth (adjusted for inflation)

Sounds like an interesting idea. I'd be interested to know what others think about this.
