To reduce the vibration noise you can put two small rubber washers on the "lugs" of the plastic door. That makes it nearly silent. Just be careful about taking the door out - if you do wish to then you need to pull the door open then pull it out to the side and it comes out, then do the same in reverse to put it back in again.

I'm please to hear that the invading cats are now locked out!
